Privacy Policy

Castiny is built on a data-minimization principle. The Android app has no user accounts. We only collect the limited information described below when you voluntarily register for beta testing, verify a Castiny Pro purchase, or send a Cast Health support report.

1. Data stored only on your device

The following is saved locally on your device only and never sent to us or any third party:

• Your casting history and the custom names you give items
• Watch progress per video (for the resume feature)
• The last TV you connected to (for automatic reconnection)

You can delete this data anytime by removing items in the app or uninstalling it.

2. Local network communication

The app scans your Wi-Fi network for Google Cast devices (via mDNS) and sends video links to the TV you choose. This communication stays within your own network — the TV fetches the video directly from its source, never through our servers.

3. Advertising (free version only)

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process:

• Your device's Advertising ID
• General device information (model, OS version, language)
• Ad interaction analytics (impressions, clicks)

See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob information. Where required by law (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK), a consent form is shown before any ads load.

4. Beta tester registration

If you voluntarily register for beta testing on this website, we store the Google Play email address you submit and the registration date in Cloudflare KV. We use it only to manage Google Play test invitations and share it only with Google Play for that purpose. We do not sell this list. You may request deletion by emailing the address in section 9.

5. In-app purchases

The Castiny Pro purchase is handled by Google Play Billing. To confirm that a purchase is valid, the app sends its Google Play purchase token and product ID to our Cloudflare-hosted verification endpoint, which checks the token with the Google Play Developer API. We never see or store your payment-card details. See policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Voluntary Cast Health reports

When you choose Send report to development team, the app sends a diagnostic report to our Cloudflare-hosted support endpoint. The report can include the diagnostic code, app version, operating system, TV name, stream type, and a sanitized video URL with query parameters, fragments, credentials, and common tokens removed. Cloudflare KV temporarily counts reports by a one-way hash of the client IP address to limit spam and stores submitted reports for up to 90 days. If configured, the report is also forwarded to our support inbox through Resend. Reports are used only to investigate and improve Castiny.

7. What we don't do

• No viewing history uploaded to any server; only the specific sanitized link in a support report you choose to send
• No selling or sharing of personal data (beyond ad serving described in section 3)
• No account, email, or phone number required to use the Android app
• No access to contacts, location, camera, or microphone

8. Children

Castiny is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, this page will be updated with a new revision date.
